Congreso Gastronomico

Writing in my blog page seems to be harder to do as I am forever entrenched in some project or other. This is just a quick note to mention my visit to the "Food Fair". It was not the best of times with far too many people and not enough space. It also had a less than appetizing collection of Peruvian nibbles.I expected to see far more exciting samples. It had the feel of the State Fair about but on a smaller scale. I am not one for deep fried foods. It took me half an hour just to track down a bottle of water. The main sponsors were Beer and Soda companies so it was get drunk or fight a sugar buzz. As we decided to leave the throng I noticed Peru's Master chef Gaston Arcurio. My friend with no qualms what so ever apporached him and said "Gaston I need to introduce you to my friend she makes the best cakes you will ever taste" I almost blushed and then explained what I was doing here in Peru. We chatted a while about his up and coming new business ventures one of which is going to be very close to our home in Texas. Told him to send me an invite to the new opening and that I would bring dessert. After all, we well bred ladies no one should never turn up empty handed. I did have my photo taken with him and still need to post it. Like I said I am not exactly on the ball here when it comes to blogging and logging info. Off to catch a flight...
