Sunday morning after a late night we had to drag our weary bodies out of bed and go to meet 2 friends and our tour guide for a bike tour of Lima. We started at 9 a.m. when most good folks are either in bed or church. I have to say although we were sluggish to start we had a great day out; perfect weather, not too much traffic and a great tour of the city and all it's historical, hidden treasures. It is surely the best way to see, hear, smell and taste( not touch, too dirty) the city. We admired architecture, ventured in to churches, experienced dance displays in the Plaza, got moved on by the police as the President needed to leave his residence and drank Pisco sours: Which Limenans take great pride in as the national beverage. You could I suppose compare it to a Margarita. We ate in the oldest cafe in Lima. The original bar from 1905 is still there and the table & chairs. (I think some of the waiters could be originals too!) Check out http://www.biketoursoflima.com/ and you may see my derriere disappearing between churches and alley ways. This is definitely the way to explore a city we did it in Buenos Aires and got a very good view of the city and it's layout. No bus tours for us only old fashioned leg work by foot or by pedal.

I looked for your bum -- but couldn't find it!
Lima looks lovely . . . I'm trying to soften up Buns Bonini for a trip out your way one of these days.
